Iowa is home to some fine food – including authentic and mouthwatering barbecue. In fact, the best smokehouse in the state is also home to the best sundaes in Iowa, and you’ll want to plan a trip to this local landmark as soon as you can.
Hickory Park is an Iowa tradition. This Ames Smokehouse opened in 1970 and quickly became a neighborhood favorite.
Hickory Park is also known for making enormous one-pound burgers, like the Stacked Pounder. This burger features grilled ham, crispy bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, two types of cheese, and three oversized onion rings.
