Saying we’ve found the best pizza in the Midwest is quite a statement, but it’s hard to find anything but glowing reviews for Fong’s Pizza. Stop in to try this one-of-a-kind pizza shop in Des Moines (or one of their newer locations) and see for yourself what the hype is all about.
Fong's Pizza is an iconic Des Moines shop that serves the most unique pizza in the Midwest. The restaurant was originally a downtown Des Moines Chinese food stop, but when it changed hands, things got a little shaken up.
Even their cheese-sticks get into the spirit here – those are pepper jack sticks, not egg rolls! Pictured also is their Reuben Pizza, topped with corned beef, sauerkraut (peri-peri seasoned), swiss cheese, mozzarella, muenster, and provolone. Of course, the drizzle is Thousand Island!
Each month, Fong's pizza features new appetizers and pies, and each month, they blow us away with their creativity. This Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup pizza was a recent special, and the four cheese blend was perfect!
No matter what pie you order from Fong's here in Des Moines, you'll be treating yourself to some of the best pizza in the Midwest. Come on down and try it for yourself!
