It always feels good to support a small business, and you end up with better service and better products than anywhere else! Check out one of our favorite spots in the Hawkeye State, Forbush Artiques. This unique antique store in Iowa will be your new favorite shopping destination.
Forbush Artiques is a unique antique store in Iowa that combines an art boutique with an antique shop. It's a must-visit if you find yourself in Appanoose County.
Marlin and Jo O'Conner opened the shop, which includes an art studio, in May of 2010. Over the last decade, it's become a local favorite, and the coolest place to go to pick up one-of-a-kind treasures.
Most of the first story of the shop features Jo's art and locally made trinkets. Clay tile jewelry is one of the shop's specialties, but you'll find other jewelry, handcrafted pillows, and upcycled creations, too.
There are always plenty of stained glass items in the shop, and they're absolutely beautiful! Pick up a seasonal piece to hang in your window and capture the sun's rays.
While you're here, take time to browse the artwork painted, drawn, and sketched by Jo and other local artists. You're sure to find something you'll want to display!
In addition to handmade crafts, you'll also find plenty of unique antiques. Vintage jewelry, ceramic, home decor, purses, and even retro cameras can be found on these shelves.
