Have you been exploring gorgeous Iowa this summer? We hope you’ve had a chance to get out there and bask in the natural beauty that surrounds us! One of the best ways to immerse yourself in the gorgeous scenery is to go on a little camping trip. Visit Backbone State Park, which has two campgrounds where you can pitch your tent.
Iowa's first state park, Backbone State Park includes 2,002 acres of forest, a lake, beach, amphitheater, trails and bridges.
There's so much to do and see at this gorgeous park, that you're going to want to stay for the whole weekend. That's ok - this is the perfect place to pitch your tent!
The park has two campgrounds. South Lake Campgrounds offers electric and non-electric sites and hot showers; Six Pine Campground is more rustic with just non-electric sites and pit latrines.
To reserve your campsite, call 563-933-4225 or Click here to make reservations online. If you're more a spur-of-the-moment camper, don't worry - one fourth of the sites are saved for first, come, first served.
