It’s showtime for antique lovers at the Plaza Antique Mall. This massive antique mall is located in Dyersville a small town in Northeast Iowa town that was put on the map by the 1989 Kevin Kostner baseball film, Field of Dreams. Appropriately, this antique heaven has a big nod to the big screen, as well as a barn full of agricultural memorabilia, farm toys, and items from Iowa’s pioneer past. You may even find a baseball or two.
It’s a show you won’t want to miss. Here’s a sample of what you’ll find in the Plaza Antique Mall.
When you arrive at the Plaza Antique Mall, you'll think you've arrived at a movie theater. It's actually just a facade, rescued from a 1915 theater that was torn down two miles away. The marquee, ticket booth and doors were all rescued and installed at the mall.
The mall is located on the southeast side of Dyersville. It's huge. It sprawls across more than 22,000 square feet, has two levels and more than 250 booths. You'll want to allow plenty of time to explore all of them.
While you'll find lots of small collectibles, the mall has a few things that won't fit in your curio cabinet. Classic cars are sold on the main level, against a backdrop of interesting automotive memorabilia.
On the second level, you'll find a huge assortment of rare farm toys for sale. Collectors travel from all over the world to purchase what they find here.
The Plaza Antique Mall is open daily, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. It’s adjacent to an interesting attraction that’s also worth a stop. Find more amazing Iowa antique discoveries at this famous store you need to visit.
