We all know that Iowa has some absolutely magnificent sunsets. At the end of each day, in any season, it’s best to stop what you’re doing and take it in. You won’t find a bad place in the state to see the sun come up. However, we must admit there’s truly something special about seeing the sunrise in the Altoona area.

Altoona is located in Polk County. It's part of the Des Moines metropolitan area, but there's nothing metropolitan about it.
