When it comes to odd roadside attractions, Iowa may be the king of the country! Not only do we show off our Volkswagen Beetle Spider, but we’re also home to the world’s largest popcorn ball, the world’s largest frying pan, and a few more oddities that are larger-than-life. None of our roadside attractions are as well known and well-loved as Albert the Bull — a quirky character that lives in the town of Audubon.
Anyone who has spent time in Audubon, Iowa has spent some time with Albert the Bull! The world's largest bull was built to represent the town and has become a huge part of the community.
Albert has been the talk of the town since he was constructed by volunteers 1964. This big guy is 33 feet long, 30 feet tall, and has a 15-foot-wide head!
In 2017, Albert and his caretakers received a grant that was used to clean him up and repaint him. Then, a few months later, a film crew came to town and Albert became famous nationwide.
Albert was the star of a Super Bowl commercial in 2018! Check out his moment in the spotlight:
Cattlemen had complained for years that these bulls only have brown eyes. Regardless of color, the eyes are a window into the soul of this enormous concrete town mascot.

No matter the weather, Albert the Bull is standing here in this iconic park, reminding Iowans that there's no place like home.
Have you stopped to see Albert the Bull recently? Visit his park for a breath of fresh air!
