Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
So, here’s something you don’t hear every day: the Midwest is a pretty awesome place to live and/or visit, with plenty to do, see, hear, and experience. It’s not boring at all, honestly – it’s far from it. Of all the states that make up the Midwest, my favorite is Indiana. It’s stunningly beautiful, and every nook and cranny of the state has something amazing to check out. While you’re here, you’ll need a place to hang your hat – and that’s where the single coolest Airbnb in Indiana comes in.
Hidden away on a private lake in Jasonville is one of the downright coolest places to stay in Indiana.
In fact, it's SO cool that it's been named "The Coolest Airbnb in Indiana" by more than one outlet - pretty cool indeed! It's a clean, cozy little lakeside cottage that's both affordable and totally worth a trip out for. Come on in.
You'll find that the cottage is modern and up-to-date with amenities like a fridge, running water, a gas grill, and so much more.
Few things are more relaxing than a day spent on the water - so why not spend the whole weekend, week, or longer to be extra sure? Sounds like a plan to me.
Once you're tired, you can retreat to the cottage and relax for a while. Though this little place sleeps four, I personally love it for a couples' outing or for a solo trip.
A few important things to note include the fact that you'll have to bring your own linens - so bedclothes and towels.
You'll also find that the kitchen is fully stocked with cookware and kitchen utensils (but you supply the food). Just four miles away is Shakamak State Park, and it too is worthy of a days' worth of exploration.
Jasonville isn't exactly known as the coolest getaway destination in Indiana...
For more information and to book your stay (which I strongly recommend you do well in advance), be sure to check out the official Airbnb listing for this unique lakeside cottage. Need more to do while you’re here? Lake Shakamak is always waiting.
What are your favorite ways to get away from it all? Let me know!
