Monument City is a small town in Indiana quite unlike any other. This tiny town was abandoned in the 1960s when Indiana decided they needed to build the Salamonie Reservoir in order to prevent massive flooding.

While the reservoir did help solve the problem of flooding, it also put the former Monument City and its remaining structures completely underwater.

You might remember that in 2012, we had a pretty rough drought. Nearly 50 years after being submerged underwater, Monument City was emerging once more.
