Hoosiers have a lot of things going for us. One of those things is our love of our state’s traditions. These 10 kind of crazy traditions have been passed down from generation to generation. Passing traditions down to our offspring shows passion, statements, belief, morals, legends, customs and – most importantly – information. Who wouldn’t take this seriously? 1. Tractor Pulling
This is actually a motorsport where tractors pull a metal sled filled with weights. This is awesome and full of excitement.

3. Fried Biscuits and Apple Butter

5. The Covered Bridge Festival
Every year more and more families and friends visit Parke County. Parke County is home to 31 different covered bridges. On these special days a ton of vendors sell special items. This event takes place the third week of October.
6. Colts Tailgating
Tailgating has become one of Indiana's traditions. The weather doesn't matter, these fans show pride no matter what. Colts Nation Rules!
7. NCAA
Indiana is known for being a basketball state and when the NCAA comes into town that means we get a chance to see NCAA basketball teams up close and personal.
8. Bean Blossom Bluegrass Festival
The oldest festival in the world and considered to be one of the main Indiana USA events and festivals, the Bluegrass Festival features the best of bluegrass music with more than 45 bands performing for 8 straight days.
9. Bonfires and Hayrides
We all have that one friend willing to host an old fashioned bonfire every year. Celebrate great friendships, taking hayrides and just tell stories passed down from the generations before us.
10. Going to the Fair
Lastly, Indiana takes major pride in our state and county fairs. This picture is from the Elkhart County 4-H Fair. It takes place in Goshen, Indiana. This fair is one of the largest in the county, pulling in over 260,000 visitors yearly.
