Where are the best Indiana beach towns? 

Who says you can’t have beach towns in a landlocked state? Definitely not us. There are several absolutely adorable Indiana beach towns, like:

  • Michigan City, where the beach is beyond perfect for photographers and revelers alike. Walk the photogenic pier, or watch the sunset with the famous Michigan City Lighthouse in view.
  • Long Beach, which is another wonderful town nestled right up along the shoreline. 

 

Is there a such thing as Indiana beaches?  

  • Well, of course there are Indiana beaches. The northwestern corner of the state is right alongside Lake Michigan, which is one of the largest lakes in the world. Being so huge has its advantages for the Hoosier State: most of that shoreline – 45 miles of it, to be exact – could be easily confused for the ocean, save for the beaches where the skyline of Chicago is visible! Some of those beaches are particularly delightful; the beach at Indiana Dunes State Park, for example, is easily one of the most beautiful along all of Lake Michigan. You have to see it to believe it, for sure – the breathtaking beauty reminds one of the Bahamas or some other tropical paradise.
