Indiana is full of historic restaurants, many of which have been in business for over 100 years! While we’re pretty lucky to have such incredible local establishments, there’s one timeless restaurant in particular that we think everyone should try at least once in their lives.
The Log Inn is officially considered the oldest restaurant in the Hoosier state. This famous restaurant was built by Henry Haub in 1825 and is still going strong. This retaurant isn't only loaded with history, it also serves up some pretty mouthwatering family-style cuisine.
One of the most famous accounts of the Log Inn is a visit made by the late Abraham Lincoln. The Log Inn was a former stagecoach stop and Lincoln himself rested here in 1844. You'll find the apropriately named Lincoln Room within the restaurant named in his honor.

Another cool fact about the Log Inn is that it was also a stop along the Underground Railroad. Pretty neat! This historic restaurant remains relatively untouched by time and will instantly transport you to a simpler time, before technology dominated our lives.
