Hoosiers do a pretty amazing job at just about anything they try – so much so that Kurt Vonnegut is quoted as saying, “I don’t know what it is about Hoosiers, but wherever you go there is always a Hoosier doing something very important there.” While Hoosiers love to excel, here are 12 things Hoosiers do better than the rest.

Let's be honest, we have the best college basketball in the state. Hoosiers don't even need explanation on this. No matter your team, you rep them hard, and the amount of heart that Hoosiers put into their love of sports is simply unparalleled.

We laugh at imitations. If you want a hand battered, melt in your mouth tenderloin done right, the Hoosier state is the only place to go. Now, where you find the best sandwich within Indiana will always be up for debate.

A 2013 Washington Monthly College Guide survey found Indiana State University at the top of the list for community service efforts, nationwide. Hoosiers love volunteering and helping their community.

According to a 2014 article released by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis, Indiana was found to be the country's leading state in manufacturing. Manufacturing in Indiana means more Hoosier jobs and helps stimulate our state's economy, which is pretty awesome!

A 2014 Forbes article found that Bloomington, Indiana was the best city in the entire country for work-life balance. With a mean average workweek of 31.9 hours and a mere 15 minutes in work travel time, this study showed that Hoosiers know work and family are both important.

This one might be more of an opinion, but I've never met anyone who thought the opposite after visiting Indiana. Hoosiers are very welcoming and accommodating people and we're certainly known for being friendly and kind.

Does this one even need explanation? The Indy 500 is the largest racing event in the world. In fact, it is the largest single day sporting event in the world!

The Washington Post found that Indiana is in fact the best state at attracting tourists. In 2012-2013, the Post found that every dollar that went into marketing for Indiana tourism yielded a return of $3,635. Pretty impressive!

Again, this one could be slightly biased, but no one can say Hoosiers aren't loyal people. From state loyalty and pride to being loyal friends and neighbors, as well as loyal to our favorite sports teams, Hoosiers top the list in loyalty.
