Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Few things send us all heading straight for the water like warm weather does. I mean, it makes sense: it’s hot, so what better way to cool off than by taking a nice, refreshing dip at a local swimming hole? It totally beats staying indoors; sure, air conditioning is nice and all, but I personally prefer to stay outside as often as I can. Come check out this delightful swimming hole in Indiana that’s easily one of my all-time favorites; it’s not overly enormous (but it’s not tiny, either), it’s just perfect for a hot day in which you’d prefer to avoid the crowds of, say, Lake Michigan.
Welcome to Fowler Park, a delightful smorgasbord of summertime shenanigans that makes for an awesome warm-weather day trip destination.
Here, you'll find not one but two awesome little swimming holes in which you can totally cool off this season. Plus, there's plenty to do once you're finished with the water, too!
There's Fowler Lake, and Ruble Lake, both of which are crystal-clear and wonderfully cool no matter how hot it is.
Should you wish to stay a little longer, you should definitely know that Fowler Park is the only park in the county to have campsites right up on the beach alongside the water. Camping season at Fowler Lake is from May 1st through October 15th.

Fowler Lake is just under 26 acres in size and is also a favorite destination for folks who enjoy fishing and boating.
Should you need one, there is a marina on the water - so happy boating (and/or fishing)! While meandering around the lake, be sure to check out the idyllic-looking Irishman's Covered Bridge, which seriously looks like something out of a postcard.
Everything at Fowler Park is a wonder and a delight. You can't go wrong with anything around here, but ultimately, the water will always call my name - and I'll think you'll feel it, too.
This gorgeous little swimming hole in Indiana is indeed a treat, and anyone who lives close by is luckier than they realize.
