Stereotypes. You either love them or you hate them. This is because sometimes they’re true and sometimes they’re just cruel. To the rest of the country, we are hillbillies who grow corn, ride tractors, and deep-fry everything. The truth is, however, there is so much more to us than just that. Here are some stereotypes about Hoosiers. Whether they are true or not, well, I’ll let you decide.

2. If you live in Southern Indiana, you think everything tastes better after being tossed in the deep fryer.

3. Everyone in Southern Indiana either owns or knows someone who owns a tractor.

4. If you are in your late 20’s and don’t have at least one or two kids, you probably weren’t born in Indiana.

5. You either love the Colts or you leave the state.

6. Real Hoosiers love the Dave Mathew’s Band even when Dave himself stopped liking his own music.

7. If it is more than 50 degrees outside, it's time to start wearing shorts and a tank top again.

8. Hoosiers are expert at dodging what would have been road kill.

9. Hoosiers find it shocking to hear a friend talk about buying alcohol on Sunday in another state.

10. If it’s Pepsi, it’s Coke. If it’s Dr. Pepper, it’s Coke. If it’s carbonated, it’s Coke. Get it?

11. If it burns…. Toss it in the bonfire!

12. Hoosiers in central Indiana think they are “normal” while they think Hoosiers in northern and southern Indiana are “hicks”. Northern and Southern Hoosiers tend to think Central Hoosiers are “spoiled” and “weird.”
