There’s a small-town county fair in Hamlet, Indiana that takes place every year to celebrate the town’s surrounding history. Only the locals know the story about the old road that runs through this town and why it was once so important to the entire United States.
If you love car shows, parades, and good old-fashioned carnivals, you’ll definitely want to visit this fair. Scroll on for more details.
The annual Yellowstone Trail Fest in northern Indiana will take place this summer August 15-16, 2020 at Starke County Fairgrounds.
This small-town county fair is inspired by the historic highway that runs through the town in which it takes place. Known as Yellowstone Trail, it was the first transcontinental route built across the northern tier of states.
The theme of this year's event is modeled after the film Back To The Future and will feature a car show, a 5K, a parade, a costume contest based off the movie, and a pageant.
Kids of all ages come out for the carnival that has all the traditional rides and games you could ask for. Win prizes and show off your skills at this fun fest.
Food vendors will be on hand to keep you full throughout the event. All the fried comfort foods you could possibly desire from fries to burgers to elephant ears and more will be available.
There's still time to sign up as a volunteer or to set up a booth at this event if you wish to be a vendor to help out. Otherwise, mark your calendars.
