Every year, Safewise releases its data on the safest cities in every state, and every year, we bring you those statistics to inform and educate. This year’s Safest Cities list features a few surprises, like towns joining the list for the first time, as well as some very intriguing facts. Read on to see if your town made the list! Here are 10 of the safest places in Indiana to live right now:
This gorgeous little town has a population of 27,630, and it's brand-new to this list. Premiering in the #1 spot is no simple feat! Amazingly, Zionsville saw less than ten violent crimes within the last year!
Westfield, with its population of 43,212, has one of the higher populations on this list. Even still, the crime rate within the last year has been remarkably low, earning it a #2 spot on the safest places list.
Ah, the beautiful town of Carmel! Carmel has a population of 95,388, and thus it's the town with the second-highest population on this list. Unfortunately, it sank from place from #2 to place #3 since last year's report, but no worries - it's still in the top tier of the top ten and quite safe. Carmel was the only town on this list to report any murders at all within the last year, which is what bumped it down one notch.
Fishers, like Carmel, also saw a one-spot bump down from last year. The population of this little town is just a bit more than Carmel - 95,506. Given the relatively high population (at least when compared to others in this article), its position as #4 is impressive.
West Lafayette is a gorgeous little town with only 49,154 folks calling it home. It makes the Safest Cities list once again for its low violent and property crime rates. We're proud to say it's been consistently safe for decades.
Noblesville "nobly" earns a spot on this list once again! The population of the town is 64, 567, and the violent and property crime rates are very low. Plus, it's a scenic place in general, so it's definitely a place we love to be.
What's even better than Brownsburg lake sunsets? Its excellent safety rating, of course. 27,005 people currently call it home and, despite the population being in the tens of thousands, Brownsburg manages to keep itself safe year-round, year after year.
Oh, look! Another newcomer to this list. Awesome! Greenfield is small, with just 22,800 residents, but its place as #9 on the Safest Cities list means its no slouch. Come for the architecture, stay for the safety.
Finally, last (but certainly not least) comes the town of Munster. Munster's population is 22,412 people, and it's another common mention on these lists.
