Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Sometimes, you just want to get out of the house and do what some of us do best: go shopping. Well, shopping enthusiasts unite! The beautiful little town of Roanoke, Indiana, is a practically-perfect little haven filled with all the mom and pop local shops you can dream of.
Roanoke prides itself on being one of the friendliest towns in Indiana.
So much so, in fact, that the town's slogan in 1920 was "Merchandise in Roanoke always gives satisfaction!" We're not sure just how accurate that is, but we imagine it's probably pretty close to the truth.

Today, it's still the busy, beloved little shopping center it's always been.
There are shops for just about everyone along bustling Main Street. If you're an antique lover, you're in luck - there are at least two shops perfect for feeding your antiquing addiction!
It's absolutely worth a day (or entire weekend!) trip to visit this little Hoosier town. It won't stay small for long; it's known as one of the fastest-growing areas of Huntington County.
There's not just shopping to be done - there's much local food and drink to be had!
Barbecue joints, pizza parlors, bar food, boutique bakeries, tea houses, and many more choices await you. Making the decision in regard to where to go for lunch is the hardest part!
There's also a large 25-acre park in the very center of town.
The shops and residents truly pride themselves on the "everybody's hometown" experience, and they totally nail it. There's too much here to love to pick just one or two favorite things.
As quaint as Roanoke is, it’s more than worth the way-too-short time it’ll take to peruse Main Street shops and delicious restaurants. If you fall in love with the place enough, there’s a super-cozy bed and breakfast in town, and trust us: it’s just as adorable as the rest of the town!
