Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Hidden in Indianapolis is what might be the best-kept secret in the Midwest, especially if you’re fond of pasta. I mean, come on – who isn’t fond of pasta? Unless an allergy is at play, there’s just no excuse – and if you don’t believe me, you need to hurry on over to Nicole-Taylor’s Pasta & Market on 54th. I do not say this lightly: this place has the best pasta in Indiana, and it will likely be some of the best you’ve ever had anywhere. It’s the only place around that makes its own pasta (and other ingredients in its dishes) in-house every day.
From top to bottom, Nicole-Taylor's is a labor of love. You can pretty much feel the passion for this culinary art infused into every bite.
I'd be stunned if anyone who's ever been here before said anyone else had the best pasta in the world - if they don't think they'll find it here, they've simply never been.
With 22 different kinds of pasta perfectly created in the kitchen every single day, you'll find yourself immersed in a world where the only thing that matters, for now, is pasta.
It's an amazingly fulfilling experience. You get to gather 'round a gorgeously-set, rustic dinner table, chat, make memories, and eat. It doesn't get more charming than that.
There is absolutely nothing on the menu that you should avoid (well, again, unless there are food allergies involved, but great news: all the pasta here is non-egg-based so folks with egg allergies need not worry).
You can't go wrong with ANYTHING. Of course, the pasta itself isn't the sole star of the show; its equally-stellar co-stars include various sauces, sides, lasagna, breads, biscotti, Italian sausage, and so much more. And, yep: it's ALL made in-house.
This is the only place in this region that makes its own pasta.
For the most up-to-date hours, menu, and more, be sure to visit the official Nicole-Taylor’s Pasta and Market website (as well as its official Facebook page for day-to-day updates). What are your all-time favorite comfort foods? Let me know in the comments!
