One Of The Most Haunted Bridges In Indiana Has Been Around Since 1906
One of Indiana’s most haunted bridges is also one of the most beautiful. Located in Washington Township Park in the town of Avon, the Avon Bridge has been the site of haunted and chilling tales since its construction in 1906.

Avon Bridge is 300 feet long and stands 70 feet high.

One story is about a drunk railroad worker who accidentally fell and was buried alive in the wet concrete. Whenever a train rumbles overhead, people claim they can still hear his moans.

When you hear those screams and cries, the only way to stop them is to drive your car under the bridge and honk your horn. Perhaps the shock of such a sound is enough to silence any ghost.

Located at County Road 625 East, just south of Highway 36, it's hard to miss those gorgeous arches. And while beautiful all year round, we definitely recommend hiking during daylight hours! Unless, of course, you're okay with a ghost or two joining you on your trek.
Whether you decide to have a daytime nature exploration or visit after sunset to find out if the bridge really is haunted, just be sure to take a moment to admire and listen. You may have a ghost story of your own to tell.
Haunted bridges aren’t the only spooky places you’ll find in Indiana. Here are some of the creepiest, most haunted spots in the Hoosier State!
