The Slippery Noodle Inn is a historic establishment in Indianapolis that is officially known as the oldest bar in the state. Founded in 1850, this inn was known as the Tremont House bar and inn, eventually becoming the Slippery Noodle in the 1960s. This inn played a large role in the Underground Railroad, hiding runaway slaves. It was also a bodega at one point and even a hot spot during Prohibition (Dillinger and Brady's gangs used to practice shooting in the building behind the inn).
