You can travel around the world, from the tallest mountains to the deepest seas, live in fantastic places, and see incredible sights…but you will never find anything quite as perfect as Perry County, Indiana. I’ve been lucky enough to visit (and live in) some of the most amazing locations our planet has to offer, but nothing compares to home, sweet home. You may think this sounds unbelievable, but hear me out: my heart will always been in Perry County.

Perry County is one of the few places in this day and age where people continue to treat complete strangers as if they are old pals. Whether your car has broken down on the side of the road or you come up a few dollars short in the checkout line, I haven’t yet met someone in Perry County who won’t lend you a hand at a moment’s notice, and do so with a smile.
This is a level of kindness that is far too rare in these days. Perry County a family-oriented community, rich in personality and values that many people only dream of. Sure, it can be a little slower paced, but Tell City offers all the conveniences of city life, including dining, shopping, and nightlife, without the non-stop hurried lifestyle of the big city.

There are no major metropolitan or urban areas within miles, which only adds to the pristine beauty of Perry County. There isn’t safer place to settle down and raise a family, and no better place to go for a peaceful retreat to remind yourself of the joys of life.
There are a multitude of lakes throughout the county. If you live the area, you probably know to keep a fishing pole on you at all times, simply because no matter where you are, there is an excellent fishing hole nearby.

Roughly ninety percent of the county is engulfed by the Hoosier National Forest, which not only boasts some of the best fishing, but opens up the opportunity for all other outdoor activities.

You will find spots to camp, lakes to swim or waterski, fields and forests to hunt, trails to hike or ride horseback, and much more. The county's rolling hills and scenic beauty compares to those of the Great Smokey Mountains!
While families elsewhere have to pack up and travel hours for vacations, these big adventures are just everyday life to the people of Perry County, Indiana. While it may not have a different coffee shop on every corner or miles upon miles of department stores, those who come here quickly realize that such “convenience” is a paradox of choice; the most valuable parts of life aren’t found down aisles or in crowded attractions – it’s in the experiences, communities, and people surrounding you. There is no better way to enjoy the purest happiness than to find yourself here in Perry County.
