8 New Year's Resolutions That Are Difficult To Keep If You Live In Indiana
If you’re still working on your New Year’s resolutions, keep in mind that Hoosiers are going to have a harder time than anybody else. Living in our state makes keeping to our goals very difficult, and this is why. Check it out:

It is very difficult to eat healthy in the Hoosier State with all these delicious restaurants everywhere. They all specialize in tenderloins, pizza, burgers, fried fish, or some other high-calorie comforting food. One way to counter these hearty meals is to have vegetables as your side so that you're still getting something healthy with your meal.

With a bar in just about every restaurant and a brewery in every popular strip mall, Indiana is no friend to those trying to quit drinking. If you're trying to cut down, our suggestion would be to choose beers and wines with lower alcohol contents and, of course, have less of them. You could also make a deal to black out certain days of the week as non-drinking days.

While Indiana is not an incredibly expensive state, there are still plenty of things to do here that might break the budget if you are not careful. Limiting how often you go out to eat and to the movies or to other attractions might be wise this year if you consider how much you spent on these activities last year. Consider only going out to eat once each week, watch movies at home, and plan for an attraction once each month.

Nighttime is when the Hoosier State really comes to life, so it can be difficult to tune out and let your head hit the pillow. From the seasonal eclipses to the starry nights and moon phases, we get a full show across the sky and much more on the ground depending on where you live. Try going to bed a half an hour earlier each night until you feel more rested, and you'll find your ideal time.

The holidays are busy, but the rest of the year is, too. We make time for our loved ones during Christmas and some other traditions, but it can be difficult to see each other otherwise. Try to make plans with each other while you're together for the next time you will see each other so that it is a routine and a top priority.

Everyone wants to lose weight, feel healthier, live longer, and benefit from all the other effects of exercise, but it can be a major struggle to do it in the Hoosier State, especially if you prefer to do it outside. The unpredictable weather patterns that are quintessential to Indiana are growing more common to the entire Midwest, making it difficult to go outside.

Being more social is one of those common New Year's resolutions that people set, but it can be difficult to maintain in Indiana. Most of the state is very remote, which makes it hard to find new people in the first place.

Depending on where you want to travel, vacations out of the state can be hard. For many, it can take more than five hours just to cross the border and exit the state let alone get to a destination.
