Indiana isn’t exactly a mountainous state like, say, Colorado or Alaska, but that doesn’t mean we don’t have have amazing restaurants with phenomenal views. In fact, the Hoosier State has some truly amazing nosh spots with views to match the awesomeness of their menus. Take, for example, this one; the views here are so scenic, being right on Lake Monroe, that the entire restaurant is named after them. Scenic View Restaurant is home to what are probably some of the best scenic views in Indiana – oh, and the food’s great, too.
That moniker is indeed accurate - the views here are simply awe-inspiring.
Lake Monroe is a premier destination in Indiana for recreation, camping, hiking, and so much more. It's only fitting that there's a high-caliber restaurant nearby to end a long day without losing sight of the lake.
The outdoor seating is by far the best (even when it's a little cold out).
It's tough to beat views so lovely; usually, a "view" in a place like Indiana means city skyline views or maybe small-town main street views, but not in this case.

In this case, this resort-style restaurant has immaculate views of lush landscape and sparkling water.
What better things to munch on while overlooking the Hoosier National Forest than menu items like tempura tenderloin, fried pickles, fish and chips, and salads? Not a whole lot.
The menu strikes the perfect balance of non-fussy favorites that are a bit more elevated than your average lakeside cafe. It's definitely date-night appropriate - for which it's an excellent candidate, if you ask us!
Other offerings include incredible sandwiches (mmmm, a toasted sandwich and a glass of wine with shimmering lake views), salads, and more.
There is also a breakfast and brunch menu - both of which are larger than the lunch menu! Scenic View is just the beginning; there is also a lodge, a campground, and much more to be discovered around here.
So, if you don't want to leave, we don't blame you - and you don't have to.
Stay a night, a weekend, or a whole week - no matter what, you'll find yourself daydreaming of both the food and the panoramic views of Indiana's most beautiful landscape time and time again long after you check out.
