Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Indiana’s National Parks are its crown jewels; some of our most outrageously beautiful landscapes are forever preserved at our parks, and Indiana Dunes National Park is no exception – although it is spectacular when it comes to outright beauty. Unlike anything else you’ll ever find in Indiana, the Indiana Dunes are home to a variety of fascinating natural landscapes that most folks would never think you’d find here, like dunes (duh), marshes, wetlands, woodlands, and so much more. So, how does a ranger-led, educational tour of Miller Woods in Indiana sound? Throughout the month of April, the park will be hosting exactly this, and we think you’d hate to miss out.
Every Sunday in April, Indiana Dunes National Park is offering two-hour, ranger-led tours of the fascinating and beautiful Miller Woods.
...and so, SO much more! Learn about the delicate ecosystem, and why this area is the way it is. It's incredibly unique, not just for Indiana but for just about ANY state.
You'll experience it all on this delightful tour, so be sure to wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water - it gets a little warm during the day and hydration is important.
The chances of running into some wildlife are pretty high, and you never know who (or what) you'll encounter out here.
We can't think of a better way to get up-close and personal with some of Indiana's most beautiful natural landscapes; we are immensely lucky to be able to call this little sliver of Lake Michigan's shoreline our own.
Sure, there are other states with their own bits and pieces of lakeshore, but this one is ours, and thus it is special (at least to us).
