Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Quick question: What’s more amazing than spending a relaxing day on the water? Whether it’s a lake, river, stream, or even the ocean, humans have long had a relationship with the aquatic world in some way or another. And why wouldn’t we? It’s perfect for so many things: exercise, food, drink, sport… you get the idea. One of my favorite lakes in Indiana, for example, makes for the perfect place to spend a day or two. Known as Wasatch Lake, this is one of the most relaxing places in Indiana – so be ready for all your stress to fall away.
It's also home to the wonderful Wasatch Lake Resort, where you can kick your feet up, lay back, and let all your cares disappear if not for a little while.
With seven beautiful lakefront cabins and 12 miles of amazing hiking trails, Wasatch Lake puts the "treat" in "retreat".
The whole property is quite large, coming in at 400 acres of splendid, unspoiled private land. It's the perfect place for getting away from it all without roaming too far.

After all, it's not far at all from Indianapolis... only about 30 minutes or so.
Every cabin comes with a fully-outfitted kitchen, a fireplace, a grill, and a fire pit. I'm pretty sure there's nothing more tranquilizing for the soul than a few nights spent here.
Fishing is especially relaxing; there's no permit required 'round here and the lake is always nicely stocked. That being said, if you'd rather just drift aimlessly around the water for a while, you can always do that, too.
Wasatch Lake is gorgeous, with crystal-clear water and a surface that seems to reflect the blue of the sky for days.
It's a deeply relaxing opportunity to reconnect with nature at every turn, and we just wouldn't have it any other way.
For more information about Wasatch Lake and the Wasatch Lake Retreat, visit the official Wasatch Lake website. Reservations can be made up to a year in advance, which is awesome for those who prefer to plan everything out ahead of time. Need more to do while in Indiana?
