Indiana has a lot of crazy and bizarre museums, but one of the most straightforward museums in our state is actually pretty creepy. The Indiana Medical History Museum is a fascinating place to explore – if you aren’t too squeamish. This unique and fascinating museum can be found in the state capital and offers more than you’d expect.
Located in Indianapolis, the Medical History Museum has a pretty interesting past. It was once Central State Hospital - a mental asylum. In fact, it's rumored that because of its dark past, patients still haunt the grounds.
Anyone with an interest in medical history will love this museum - but if blood and body parts creepy you out, be forewarned. The tour starts out harmlessly enough, in an old lecture room, that seems just like the type of thing you'd expect to find here.
