Hidden away in Tippecanoe Township, Kosciusko County, Indiana, is a stunning boardwalk hike you can take in just a few minutes that’s sure to thrill and fascinate you. This boardwalk trail in Indiana meanders through the Pisgah Marsh Area, and it’s one of the most unique ecosystems in the Midwest. Settled on 445 combined acres, the Pisgah Marsh is a unique ecosystem with lots of life teeming about at all times and seasons.
Spring and fall, however, are probably the most active times of year for waterfowl and other critters that call the area home - at least for those parts of the year, anyway.
Among the birds you're likely to spot at Pisgah Marsh are sandhill cranes and wild turkeys (which you can usually see all year long), ducks, and more.
Among the lesser-common birds you might spot here are species like the Common Gallinule, Green Heron, Soras, Virginia Rail, and several others. It's an incredibly diverse ecosystem that's sure to add all sorts of charm to your afternoon boardwalk hike.

Plus, then there's the gorgeous Pisgah Lake, which is 6.67 acres of marshy, green water, also teeming with life.
Spot frogs, salamanders, and all kinds of cute fish species after gazing at the lake for a while. Enjoy the truly unique ecosystem that's unlike anything else in the Hoosier State, where critters come for sanctuary and live their lives in relative peace.
It's not difficult at all; it's an easy stroll around a truly fascinating little place full of all sorts of plants, animals, and flora you don't see every day - or even every week (unless, of course, you decide to come to hike the trail weekly, which you totally can).
There are no set hours; the marsh is open to visitors.
You'll find the Pisgah Marsh and Boardwalk Hike nine miles north of Larwill, Indiana, just west of State Road 5. There are three nature areas: Pisgah 1, Pisgah 2, and Pisgah 3. We recommend exploring them all, as you'll find all sorts of different plant and animal life in each.
