If you’re a fan of classic video games, then you probably love Mario. There is going to be a real-life Mario Kart racing event around Indianapolis this year, and you won’t want to miss it.

Mushroom Rally is a worldwide sensation that is finally coming to Indiana. It includes 16 races in 16 cities across the nation with the final taking place in Las Vegas. The idea is to dress up like your favorite character and race go-karts with other fanatics.

Don't have your own costume? Don't worry! The event is prepared to dress you up like Mario, Luigi, Peach, or any of the other iconic characters.
The location for the Mario Kart racing is TBA, but the website says it will take place about 30 minutes northeast of downtown Indianapolis, which is around Fishers. It will take place Sunday, September 8, 2019, and each ticket is $55 (plus about $10 in fees and taxes).

There will be both an adult and a junior race. Kids must be at least four feet tall to participate and adults must be at least four feet and 10 inches with a maximum height of six feet and seven inches and 300 pounds. Ticket prices include one guest spectator.

Be sure to stick around for the after-race party. There will be music, dancing, and more Mario-themed fun.
There are three ways to qualify for the final in Vegas, for which 20 people will be chosen. Try for the fastest time at the Indy race or try to collect the most stars. The third way to win is by lottery, which you'll be entered into when you purchase your tickets.

The first race takes place in Los Angeles in March 2019, and Indiana is hosting one of the last ones before the final.
There will be prizes to win throughout the event for various tasks and games. Collect the most stars or win a race to get one for yourself.
