Indiana's Major Cities Looked So Different In the 1900s, West Lafayette Especially.
It’s always fun to glance back in time at what some of your favorite places used to look like. Indiana has grown tremendously in the past 100 or so years. Looking back at the 1900s, you can definitely tell just how much the Hoosier state has changed!

This incredible image taken in 1909 offers an amazing view of downtown Lebanon. Look at all the trees mingled in with the buildings!

Wow, downtown Indy sure has changed over the years! While the monument still stands, some of these cobblestone roads have been paved over, and there are many more stores, bikes racks, and parking spaces lining this street now.

This part of Fort Wayne looks like a true paradise! Would you have even known this was Fort Wayne just from the image? Doubtful!

One of the most well known sights in Bloomington is Indiana University. Take a look at this early image of the gymnasium!

This popular resort town sure looks different in this postcard scan from 1906. It's still gorgeous, though!

Hartford City definitely doesn't have rows of horse drawn buggies waiting around downtown anymore. Look how different this city looks in 1908!

The only photograph we could find of Evansville during this time was of the Willard Library. It's still recognizable, but definitely looks different!

This image from 1904 is from the prestigious Purdue University and showcases the former Eliza Fowler Hall, before it was torn down in the 1950s.
