Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Hidden away in an amazingly underrated Hoosier State park is one of the best trails in Indiana – who’d have guessed? You definitely would have, because you’re like me – probably mildly obsessed with hiking trails. Well, you’re in luck, fellow nature-lover, because I’ve found another awesome trail to explore whenever you feel the need to get out and enjoy the planet’s beauty. If you’ve never heard of the Schoen Creek Trail, you’re about to fall in love – it’s a truly beautiful adventure that seems to hold the lost secrets of Indiana’s past.
Fort Harrison State Park is absolutely gorgeous, and what better way to explore it than by foot?

While on this hike, keep an eye out for unique plant and animal life.
You never know what - or who - you'll run into! Wildlife is frequently spotted out here, and it's almost a guarantee you'll meet up with at least a few interesting creatures.
Other points of interest include wildflowers (depending on the time of year), cattails, and more.
...but seriously, the strange plants are my favorite plants. On average, the hike takes just over an hour, unless you want to stop every so often and look closer (which I strongly recommend). The trail is full of wonders and secrets... it's up to you to discover them.
What will your favorite part of this unique hiking trail in Indiana be?
What secrets of nature will you uncover? I guess there's only one way to find out! Listen to the wind whisper through the trees. Ask the local wildlife about the things its seen. Sure, it probably won't answer... but it's worth a try.
