Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Indiana, known fondly to residents and folks around the United States as ‘The Hoosier State’ (for no particular reason that anyone knows of), is chock-full of gems, be they well-known or hidden. In some places, finding lesser-known natural beauty is a little tougher, but thankfully, here we don’t have that problem. Scattered throughout our lovely state are plenty of places where we can reconnect with nature, many of which aren’t even usually very crowded! If you play your cards right, these beautiful little slices of heaven could be your next away-from-it-all destinations, sans the crowds of more highly-trafficked spots.
How many of these not-so-legendary little gems have you heard of? Have you visited any of them? Do you have any favorites that didn’t make this list? Tell us all about your experiences in the comments section below!
