There’s a Lincoln museum in Indiana that locals know for its log cabins and open spaces. This Rockport attraction is overlooked by many from other parts of the state, but it is actually an incredibly informative and exciting place to visit. Check it out:
The Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum in southern Indiana is situated near our border with Kentucky on the banks of the Ohio River.
This living, outdoor museum lets guests explore a world much like the one in which Abraham Lincoln grew up, and it is situated in the part of the state that he lived in as a boy.
Lincoln lived in southern Indiana for 14 years with his parents after being born in Kentucky and before moving to Illinois. The years he spent living in Indiana were between 1816 and 1830.
You'll get to see the ins and outs of the structures on this property and see what it was like to live during Lincoln's time. Artifacts like furniture and artwork bring the setting to life.
History lovers will never forget a visit to this outdoor attraction that celebrates the life of our 16th president. This is one of the best ways to go back in time.
Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum is open Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., and you can get more details on its website. If you’ve ever been to this Lincoln museum, we’d love to hear from you. Please share your experiences and photos with us below in the comments.
