Leeds Public House opened in Michigan City in the summer of 2019 after many months of anticipation by the locals. A year later, this eatery is a beloved treasure, and it still has that buzzing “new hot spot” energy. But the building and the story behind it go back much, much further — and somehow, that just makes this place even more enticing.

The historic Leeds building was first constructed in 1837 and rebuilt in 1903.

It all started when Daniel Leeds emigrated to Michigan City with his family and established the frontier’s first area hospital, known as the Leeds Building. The pub is named after the Leeds family as a way of paying homage to Indiana's early pioneers.
The property has been renovated a few times, but everything was completely spruced up and modernized for the Leeds Public House opening.

The space now includes indoor and outdoor bars, a completely refurbished patio for group dining, and a fire pit perfect for gathering with family and friends.
