The Disappearance Of Lauren Spierer Is One Of Indiana's Creepiest Cold Cases

On June 3, 2011, Charlene and Robert Spierer received a phone call that no parent should ever have to receive: their daughter, 20-year-old Indiana University student Lauren Spierer, was missing. Supposedly, she had spent the earliest hours of that morning incredibly intoxicated, bouncing between several friends before disappearing into the pre-dawn morning, never to be seen or heard from again.
It is not entirely known what transpired on the morning she disappeared. Based on accounts from the friends she was with and on surveillance footage captured of her in several places, however, investigators have a general idea of what transpired, up until the trail runs completely cold.
The duo went to the apartment of a friend of David's by the name of Jay Rosenbaum. There, they met up with Jay's neighbor, Cory Rossman.

It is unknown why Lauren was served alcohol since she was just 20 years old. Despite this, she was seen on video leaving the sports bar at around 2:30 a.m. She was noted to have been "extremely" intoxicated, and left both her phone and her shoes behind at Kilroy's.

Rossman reportedly picked her up and carried her out of her building and over to his, and at 3:30 a.m., Rossman's roommate entered their apartment to find him and Lauren there. They were both extremely intoxicated, and Lauren refused to stay there for the night. She wanted to go back to her own apartment.
What happened to her from there is a mystery. Her family strongly suspects that the friends she was with that night knew more than they were admitting to; however, the men claim that they have passed polygraph tests with both local police and FBI investigators, and they have never been considered suspects.
Lauren's friends also recounted that she mixed the copious amounts of alcohol she consumed on that morning with both cocaine and Klonopin. She was petite, at under 5 feet tall, and the most prominent theory as to her disappearance is that she suffered a fatal overdose on June 3rd, 2011, and her friends covered it up.

Countless people have dedicated themselves to the search for answers, including internet sleuths on sites like Reddit.com. Her family makes sure to post every detail; for example, this ring is a ring that Lauren wore the morning she vanished.
