Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Looking for something to do ASAP with the entire family? You know – something that’s not boring? Something that IS engaging and, dare we say, educational, without the sweat and complaints from the little ones on, say, a nature hike? We’ve got just the thing, and they’re going to love this: the amazing Indianapolis Children’s Museum in Indiana blends the arts, humanities, science, and history all together to create an immersive learning experience for kids of all ages (but especially the younger ones). Come see why the largest children’s museum in the United States, right here in the Hoosier State, is also the best:
Honestly, it's tough to know where to begin with this one.
Covering almost half a million square feet, the Indianapolis Children's Museum is a sight to behold and an experience and a half to be had. Along the way, you and the kids will come face-to-face with dinosaurs, learn all about trains, admire art installations, and more.
At any given time, there are numerous exhibits ongoing, as well as family-friendly events, programs, and just about everything your heart could ever hope for in a place of learning.
It's an immersive gem in which the kids will learn just how gigantic these prehistoric behemoths were, as well as interesting information about the daily lives and goings-on of these ancient reptiles.
From March through November, there are also outdoor exhibits, many of which showcase the fun and health benefits of sports like golf, basketball, racing, football, and more. There's even a "Tree of Sports"! What's that, you ask? Well, we guess you'll just have to visit and find out!
The museum offers such an incredible amount of things to do that it's almost impossible to get it all done in a single day. After all, there are only 483,000 square feet of fun to get through!
We strongly recommend investing in a membership; that way, you and the kids can continue to return over and over again all year. Need time to think about it? No worries - you can apply the cost of your ticket today toward membership for the year (within two weeks of your visit). There are different tiers of membership with different perks, so be sure to visit the official Indianapolis Children's Museum in Indiana website for all the details.
End your visit with a ride on the world-famous carousel; it doesn't get a whole lot more jam-packed than this epic children's museum - the largest one in the world - right here in the Hoosier State.
