Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
In the town of Noblesville, Indiana, there is a place that prepares itself every year to be the ultimate fun winter hangout spot. Sure, they don’t always have natural snow, but that’s okay — they make their own, and you get to play in it!
As Indiana's largest — and only — specialized tubing hill, Koteewi Run is everything you didn't know you needed for the chilly season.
The creation process is quite simple and quite clean — lake water is drawn into a quarter-mile of underground pipe and distributed into "Snow Guns", which blow tiny, mist-like droplets into the air; there, they are met by enormous fans that push the droplet higher up. They subsequently freeze and fall to the ground as man-made snow.

The overall goal, weather permitting, of course, is to have three or four feet of snow on the ground.
"Lanes" are carved into the snow for guests to get onto a custom-made tube and simply careen the 700 feet downward, just to be hoisted back up the hill again by a convenient tow-line.
Koteewi Run is a simple, family-friendly seasonal park that serves up hot dogs, hot cocoa, coffee, and candy for visitors to munch on during their visits.
Don't worry about bringing your own sled, by the way — Koteewi doesn't permit guests to bring their own sleds or tubes. The cost of the custom Koteewi-tube is built into the cost of the ticket, so no worries! You don't have to lug anything heavy to and from the park.
Koteewi Park is not limited to only the enormous tube run, by the way.
We suspect you'll definitely find something for just about anyone in your family to enjoy at the park.
Get a Full Session pass to enjoy the entire day Monday through Thursday, open to close, at Koteewi Run, or opt for a 2 or 3-hour pass on a weekend day (Fri/Sat/Sun) instead.
Also on-site are heated restrooms and a small heated "Warm-Up" station equipped with space heaters for when you're done with your cold-weather shenanigans.
For more information, visit the Koteewi Run website for details. If you’d like to book some time at Koteewi Run, first you’ll need to sign an electronic waiver, which is available here. Please note that there are no paper waivers and this electronic one must be signed to continue the registration process, whether you choose to buy tickets on-site or online.
