Stay Away From Indiana's Most Haunted Street After Dark Or You May Be Sorry
There are many well known, haunted places to explore in Indiana and recently we brought you a list of some of the lesser known haunted spots in the Hoosier state. If you’re looking for a truly terrifying time and up for a little road trip, there’s a haunted street in Indiana that’s a real scare after the sun goes down…

Located in Blackford and Jay counties, Dunkirk is a small Indiana town with roughly 2300 residents. This little town is pretty quiet, though it's right near a pretty eerie road.

Just outside of Dunkirk, on County Road 700, is a segment of the street with a dark history. It's so dark, in fact, that locals refer to this segment of road as "Blood Road".

What happened along this road is truly tragic. One day, a farmer and his son were riding up the road in his truck. The son used to always play a trick on his dad by jumping out of the back of the vehicle while his dad was driving. To put an end to this (and to protect his son), the dad tied a chain around the son's waist and hooked the other end to the truck.

Sadly, the farmer's truck struck a large bump in the road, and unknown to him, his son fell out of the truck, and unable to free himself from the chain, was dragged more than two miles down the road. To this day, you can see the large bump in the road and legend has it blood from the poor boy's corpse still lines the road.

While many claim the coloring on the road is merely caused by pesticides, many locals disagree. The real mystery is that drivers swear you can only see the blood when driving southbound, for about a quarter of a mile after hitting the big bump. Going northbound, you don't see anything. Some even say you can hear the voice of a boy calling out to his father.
