This Tiny, Isolated Indiana Village Is One Of The Last Of Its Kind
There are tons of unique small towns and villages still thriving throughout Indiana. From the small town of Nashville to historic New Harmony, these hidden gems are some of the most fascinating spots in our state. This tiny village in Indiana draws visitors from across the region once a year, and has quite an interesting history.

Mansfield, Indiana, also referred to as Mansfield Village, is a tiny town in Parke County.

This gorgeous village was originally named New Dublin, when platted, then later called Strain's Mills. Today it's known most commonly as Mansfield, but goes by its previous names, as well.

The Big Rocky Fork Covered Bridge can also be found here and also earned its place on the list of Registered Historic Places.

Of course, the most popular bridge here (and possibly the most popular bridge in the state) is the Mansfield Covered Bridge which was built in 1867. This bridge has since been restored, is a National Historic Place, and serves as the site for one of Indiana's largest festivals...the Covered Bridge Festival.

This festival spans throughout Parke County, yet the Mansfield Covered Bridge is one of the most visited. This event showcases local vendors and craftsmen, local food, music, and so much more.

This year's event runs from October 13th - 22nd, so be sure to swing by and catch this historic village during its prime.
