The temperatures are slowly starting to cool off in Indiana, but it’s still nice enough outside for you to soak up the summer sun. Fortunately, Indiana is connected to part of Lake Michigan’s shoreline, a lot of major rivers, and a number of big lakes. If you don’t know much about Indiana or you are stuck living in the city, you might not know this but – there are a lot of incredible waterfront spots just waiting to be enjoyed. In fact, here are some you should put on your to-do list.
Swan Lake Resort is known for being the home of the United States Golf Academy which is a famous state-of-the-art facility that offers golf camps and golf lessons. This resort has suites with parlors, cottages, cabins, and standard rooms. There are even fairway villas. The resort comes equipped with both salon and massage services. Then, you have Sam Snead’s Tavern and Grill which serves incredible seafood and steak.

Indiana Beach is known for being the biggest vacation playground and amusement park in Indiana. The amusement park is also home to a beautiful resort that sits on Lake Shafer. The amusement park features over 40 different rides which includes a water park and six different roller coasters. Guests who stay at the resort are also treated to free admission for the Boardwalk Funway. Between the amusement park itself and the resort there are dozens of different places for you to eat during your stay.

Raccoon Lakeside Lodge is categorized as a waterside apartment and suites complex. The rooms feature anywhere from one to three bedrooms and come equipped with a full kitchen. Each unit can sleep anywhere between six to eight people. The patio (or porch) of the units includes a gas grill, picnic table, and a porch swing. You can rent pontoon boats that come equipped with a 25 horsepower motor during your stay. You can also rent jet skis. There's a swimming pool at the lodge and a public beach at the recreation area which is just a five minute drive away from the lodge.

Fourwinds Resort and Fairfax Beach is perfectly positioned on Lake Monroe in Bloomington. Boat rentals are available and you also have the option of hiking at the Hoosier Natural Forest during your stay. There's both an indoor and outdoor pool to ensure swimming is an option year round. The resort even has an absolutely beautiful garden.
The French Lick Resort is actually made up of two different hotels including the West Baden Springs Hotel and the French Lick Springs Hotel. The West Baden even features a huge domed atrium for your viewing pleasures. This domed atrium has actually been referred to as the eighth wonder of the world a few times.

Oakwood Resort offers their guests 27 acres on which to relax on the largest natural lake in Indiana. This resort is popular for company conferences, weddings, weekend getaways, and weddings. They have 77 elegant rooms, eight cabins, and ten vacation homes for their guests to choose from. It certainly doesn’t hurt that Lake Wawasee is absolutely beautiful.
