There are times where you wonder how someone lives in the city without going NUTS. Fortunately, there are some more rural towns and cities in Indiana where you can go to get away from it all. I’ve put together a list of some small, beautiful, and in some cases rural places where you can go to get far, far away from urban life.

Alright, I included this one on the recommendation of my husband. He did a lot more moving around and living in various places in the state and traveling from one end of the state to the other. He said Freedom is one of the smaller towns he had ever been to and it's "rural-ish". Definitely a great option if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I am aware that the picture is not the prettiest choice. This is such a small town and such a well-hidden gem that it's actually pretty hard to find pictures of it.
