Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
Sometimes, you’re just in the mood for some good old-fashioned comfort food. Not just any comfort food will do, though; no, you need something a cut above the rest. Well, we think there are few comfort foods as deliciously comforting as fried chicken, and we found a little hole-in-the-wall that serves – hold up – some of the BEST fried chicken in Indiana. It’s called the Chicken House, and it’s a delight and a half. Bring your appetite and definitely arrive hungrily, but try not to inhale the food. Take time and enjoy it. Besides, you can’t breathe chicken.
…but you can taste it, and at Chicken House, you'll be dining on some of the best in the Midwest.
It's very easy to miss upon the first pass; it sits in an unassuming little house on a corner with only a black-and-white marquee-style sign in the front to tell you you're in the right place. Go inside, though, and you're in for a treat.
The first thing you'll notice is the aroma of absolute deliciousness hanging heavy in the air.
Immediately, your mouth will water, and the friendly folks that work here will help you be seated. The interior and overall vibe is a comfortable mix of modern and laid-back, with a splash of "Granny's house" country charm.

If you can - and we know it's quite a challenge - ease up a little early and leave some room, because the home-made desserts at the Chicken House are to die for.
We're pretty sure it doesn't get a whole lot better than this. Some of the best fried chicken in Indiana, delectable desserts, and appealing appetizers are the name of the game 'round these parts.
