Discovering hidden oases among nature really isn’t too difficult, especially if you know where to look. When you spend a day exploring Hoosier National Forest, which boasts more than 260 miles of trails, you’re pretty certain to find a quiet corner or a gorgeous natural wonder that you have never seen before. Indiana’s Hemlock Cliffs National Scenic Trail, for example, will lead you past lush greenery and straight to two gorgeous cascades.
You've got a bit of a challenge ahead of you when you set off on the 1.2-mile Hemlock Cliffs National Scenic Trail. However, you'll quickly realize the challenge is more than worth it.
The trail meanders through a remote area and can get quite busy at times. Still, you might be lucky enough to venture out when there aren't many others on the trail.
Don't forget your camera, because you'll definitely want to capture the views. Some, who have hiked the trail, liken it to magic with its fairy tale setting.
Two - yep, two - of the highlights of the trail are its waterfalls. Your best bet is to visit after a recent rainfall, especially if you want to see the cascades at their most beautiful.
Head over to the official website of Hoosier National Forest to learn more about all of the activities at the park. Or, check out All Trails for a trail map and more.
