Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.

It’s fairly well known that there are plenty of allegedly haunted places in Indiana; the tales range from spooky state parks to haunted hotels and even bridges, and each story is more eerie and unsettling than the last. There seems to be some overlap between fans of the paranormal and fans of historic places, and we’ve discovered an old, historic hotel that ought to satisfy the tastes of both. Visit the small suburb of Indy known as Atlanta and check out the Roads Hotel – a historic haunted hotel in Indiana that’s sure to deliver plenty of shivers.
The Roads Hotel is an elegant Queen Anne-style mansion built in 1893.
Once upon a time, this hotel was quite the place to be... if you were an outlaw. It spent some years as a brothel following the death of its original owner, and unfortunately, brothels at that time weren't the safest - or most savory - places to be.

There have been no less than three deaths and one suicide in the house or on the grounds.
Even some of the guests were notorious; the hotel was allegedly a hangout for American gangsters like Al Capone and John Dillinger, and it was not at all uncommon for violence to break out.
One of the many spirits here that actually have names is a woman named Sarah, who was once a lady of the night and simply never left. What was her bedroom is behind the stairs on the second floor, and guests often feel watched, have items move around, electronics behaving strangely, and other ultra-fun (and bone-chilling) goings-on.
Other notable spooks said to roam the halls are rare, full-bodied apparitions of both a man and/or a woman, and numerous paranormal investigators have caught a hazy, body-like apparition gliding through the living room, among other things.
The hotel is well known for its ghostly residents who simply never checked out, and it's become quite a popular spot for investigators and hopeful investigators. Want to see a ghost AND enjoy some awesome local history? Head to the Roads!
