Are you tired of being cooped up all winter? Well, spring has sprung and it is time to get back outside and explore the Hoosier State. How about a spring day trip to a friendly small town in Indiana named Greencastle? Just look for the covered bridges. Hiking trails, a museum with a children’s area, a restaurant where you can watch airplanes take off, a local speedway, and a darling craft store are some of the attractions you will find here.
The charming college town of Greencastle is located an hour west of Indianapolis.
Notice the covered bridges from the 1800s: Oakalla at County Road 375 West and County Road 225 South, and Houck on County Road 550 South - over Big Walnut Creek. Try fishing in the creek.
You won’t want to miss the silo murals on display at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Highway and 231.
