Locals know that one of the best places to get some epic BBQ in Indiana is at a historic fire station restaurant in Richmond. Though it has only been around for a few years, it has already become a place where regulars meet.
From vintage decor to mind-blowing food, this excellent spot is a must-try. Check it out:
Owned and operated by two former firemen, the Firehouse BBQ and Blues has been in business since 2012. It is located in a very old building from the 1800s that actually served as the town's first fire station.
This place is known for its delicious BBQ and live entertainment. Locals flock here on weekends to hear blues music by bands from all over the country.
The most popular menu items are the ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and a sandwich called "The Smokin' Hog" that is sausage with pulled pork and cheese. Sides like mac and cheese, green beans, cole slaw, and potato casserole come in adorable little mason jars that really up the vintage feel of this place.
Other popular menu items include the BBQ nachos, Brunswick stew, a Tex-Mex wrap, and a smoked brisket salad. This fire station restaurant really has something for everyone.
Stop by the Firehouse BBQ and Blues Monday through Thursday between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m., Friday between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m, and Saturday between 11 a.m. and midnight. After 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays, only those who are 21 and older may enter.
