Courtney's originally from the East Coast, but has found a charming new home in Indiana. She loves checking out local music, reading, and trying new food. She's also a little too addicted to coffee and has a Maine Coon cat she answers to.
Indiana may be relatively landlocked, but that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy seafood. Hoosiers love fish, especially fried, and in Indiana, nothing beats fried catfish. While you can find this fried delicacy throughout the state, there’s one incredible rustic restaurant that offers endless fried catfish…and you’re going to want to check it out.
Unfortunately, since the time of publication Clayton Cafe has closed.
Nestled in the small town of Clayton is a rustic, locally owned cafe with some of the best homecooked food you've ever tried. Clayton Cafe is beloved in the community for their welcoming restaurant and incredible food, as well as their amazing all-you-can-eat specials.
This rustic cafe is charming and simple on the inside. You'll feel like you've just stepped into the home of an old friend who's been waiting for you. This no frills cafe may not seem like much, but you'll find country cooking at its finest, here.
Their daily specials are a huge hit, with all-you-can-eat fried chicken and shrimp rotating on the board. Kids also eat free on Mondays. Best of all you'll find their incredible desserts on the board. Of course, everyone who's been to Clayton Cafe knows that Friday is the best day to go...
...because Friday is all-you-can-eat catfish day! Choose from a variety of styles: bone-in or filet, breaded or grilled, plain, lemon pepper, buffalo, or Cajun! The choices are nearly endless and their catfish is finger lickin' good.
You'll also receive two sides with your order. Pick from their beloved handmade hush puppies, breaded tomatoes, mac and cheese, fries, baked beans, vegetables, or cole slaw.
For great small town cooking, friendly waitstaff, and a laid back, relaxing meal, visit Clayton Cafe in downtown Clayton (remember to stop in on Fridays for all-you-can-eat catfish!). You'll find them at 76 E Kentucky St, Clayton, IN 46118.
