If you’re looking for an Indiana winter getaway, you can’t do much better than the enchanting small town of Lawrenceburg, in the southeastern corner of the state. You don’t have to take our word for it, though – hit the road and find out for yourself.
Known as “Whiskey City” because of its history as a rye distilling center, Lawrenceburg is also a charming Ohio River town that embraces winter just a little more firmly than other towns in the Hoosier State.
Skiers and snowboarders, alike, flock to Perfect North for its almost two dozen runs and three terrain parks - all of which are served by up to seven chairlifts and tows.
Check out the iconic Busching Covered Bridge on your way. But once in the park, enjoy a winter hike (or snowshoe) along the miles of trails.
You’ll definitely find plenty to keep yourself busy during a winter visit to Lawrenceburg. But if you still need more to do, pay a visit to the Hollywood Casino and Hotel along the riverfront in downtown Lawrenceburg. You’ll find everything you’d expect in a casino, along with dining, bars, and entertainment.
Have you had a chance to visit Lawrenceburg in the winter? What other small Indiana towns would be perfect for a winter getaway?
