If you’re anything like me (and I suspect you are, dear friend – you’re here, after all), every so often you get a wild hair on your shoulder and feel like branching out a bit. Next time you’re planning a date night, for example, there are all sorts of amazing places you could pick for dinner. Why not choose one that’s like something out of a fantasy novel instead of the Midwest? Check out The Carriage House, a stunning garden restaurant in Indiana that’s from out of this world (and makes for an amazingly romantic setting) perfect for any occasion, really – as long as the occasion calls for elegance.
Once upon a time, this old building was a church dating all the way back to the mid 1800s - so not only is it a wonderful place to eat, it's also a little slice o' history right here in our backyards.
To say it's a magical garden restaurant is to put things lightly.
Part of the place's whole draw is the intensely beautiful garden; the menu is wonderful, yes, but somehow even that takes a backseat to the garden decor.

Okay, but yeah - let's take a second to discuss the menu.
Nothing on it is bad or even mediocre; every single dish is pure perfection, made with the freshest ingredients and sating just about every craving... especially those for the savory.
It's no mystery as to why this is one of South Bend's most-beloved dining destinations; the atmosphere plus the decor plus the menu equal an experience you'll adore (cubed).
From excellent food to stunning decor and an atmosphere you'll never forget, this delectable garden restaurant in Indiana is an experience from start to finish.
As of the time of this writing (March 2024), The Carriage House is for sale – so if you’re interested in owning a local staple, be sure to inquire! During this transitional time, this little nosh spot is without an official website, but you can keep up with the most up-to-date hours and specials on the official Carriage House Facebook page. Do you know of another garden restaurant in Indiana that’s comparable to the beauty of this one? Tell me about it in the comments!
