Tori Jane is a storm chaser, writer, photographer, and the village idiot - in that order. When she's not out and about dancing with the meanest storms on planet Earth for funsies she can be found wandering, shooting landscapes, writing, editing photos, and otherwise up to no good. Legend has it that she can also be occasionally spotted typing up short bios in the third person, but those rumors are unsubstantiated.
One of the best things about living in the Midwest is all the awesome stuff there is to do during summer. Folks who enjoy nature’s beauty will find a plethora of hiking trails, bike paths, campgrounds, waterfalls, and so much more right here in the Hoosier State. City slickers will love our bounty of museums, historic sites, Native American history, and plenty more, too. But for those of us who are right about in the middle of the two, there’s always the warm seasons at Indiana’s numerous you-pick farms. Summer (and autumn) is a special time for us; it’s the best time there is to pick beautiful flowers in Indiana and create anything your heart desires.
Harvest Tyme is a bit of a local legend in northwest Indiana.
The farm has been passed down from generation to generation, and today, the family who owns and runs it are direct descendants of the original owners, who established the homestead in the mid-1800s.
It's been going strong all along, and today, the family behind it has a true passion for creating lasting memories that will live for a lifetime.

Every year, from July to October, the farm invites guests to come to the farm and cut their own flowers to use in beautiful bouquets and stunning home decor. The farm also offers delectable fruits and veggies.
The you-pick flower fields are open to the public from July through early September, and then the autumn picking season begins. The world-famous sunflower fields are a brief, but incredible, experience - they typically bloom for just a week in September.
The autumn season is when things really ramp up; from early September through the end of October, come to Harvest Tyme and partake in awesome fall-inspired activities, like hayrides, pumpkin patches, and, of course, plenty of you-pick delights.
There are rides, too, so make sure to bring the kids. Together, you'll make memories that won't fade over time. It's times like these that remain in one's memory for life, and what a precious memory it is.
Better still, every activity on the farm is super affordable.
General admission, which includes you-pick flowers, refreshments, a four-acre wildflower meadow, and access to the butterfly enclosure (you read that right - don't miss it!) costs just $7.95. There are numerous add-ons, too, so make sure to visit the official website to reserve your tickets ASAP.
The you-pick fields are spectacular for photographers, too, so bring a camera!
Sunsets here are particularly magical; golden hour gives everything a warm glow, and trust us when we say there's not a whole lot of things in this life quite as stellar as watching the sunset over a seemingly endless field of summer sunflowers.
So, what are you waiting for? Harvest Tyme is waiting for you and your family to drop by, so hop to it and enjoy!
